‘Endhiran’, ‘Marmayogi’ in deep trouble
All is not well in Rajinikanth and Kamal Hassan, it seems. Reports say that Kamal’s magnum opus ‘Marmayogi’ might get shelved; and if that’s not shocking enough, Rajni’s ‘Endhiran’ might also meet the same fate, say insides, Pyramid Saimira producers of ‘Marmayogi’, is feeling jittery about the huge investment they have to make on this film, it is said. The grapevine has it that Kamal has approached Sun Pictures and Gemini Lab and even Soundarya Rajnikanth in his search for a producer in case Pyramid backtracks. Soundarya was impressed with the project and was about to go ahead when papa dear stepped in.
Rajni restrained his daughter as he didn’t want his ‘Endhiran’ and ‘Marmayogi’ to have a B.O clash as both of them might be released on the same-day, if all go according to plan. Kamal films have a tendency to exceed its original budget and if that would repeat in the case of ‘Marmayogi’, Rajni would have to intervene. Taking all these factors into consideration, the superstar has decided to be extra-cautious, sources say.
The ‘Endhiran’ issue is entirely different. After the crew completed its Goa schedule, the producers of the movie, Ayngaran Films asked for a written undertaking from director Shankar that he wouldn’t overshoot the original budget of the film. A furious Shankar refused to budge and threw the ball back in the producer’s court.
As per original plans, the unit should start its next schedule from 16th November. Both the sides appear adamant and truce appears nowhere in sight.
